Pets should be non agressive and have no history of ever biting anyone.
Pets should be spayed or neutered. Absolutely no females in season (in heat) will be allowed.
Pets should be up to date on all their shots and be on a monthly flea treatment program. This is mandatory to prevent having a flea problem.
We ask that pets not be allowed on the furniture or beds at any time. If your pet is a furniture pet you MUST bring covers to protect the furniture. All of our comforters must be removed from the beds if your pet sleeps with you. This is necessary to keep animal hair and dander off the furniture and bedding since we have guests coming in after you who may not be pet people. Evidence of pets on furniture will incur extra cleaning fees.
It is recommended that you bring your pet's bed with them if they have one, as well as some of their toys to make them feel at home. We reccommend leaving the TV on for company for your pet when you are not there.
Your pet should be clean and odor free and have no flea issues when they arrive.
At no time will the pet be allowed to come inside if they are wet or sandy. We have outside showers with hot and cold water should you need to give your pet a bath. While this may be an inconvenience to have to wait for your pet to be completely dry, wet dog smell is not acceptable.
Pets should not be left unattended in the apartment unless crated unless they are the type dog to lie quietly while you are gone. Pets may not be left unattended for an undue length of time. They must be walked regularly. Accidents may result in additional charges to you. Pets may not be left unattended on balcony, yard, or porch. If you know they will claw at doors, chew things or tear things up, please crate them when you are not there. New and strange places may be upsetting to your pet. They feel safe and secure in their special place.
You must clean up after your pets for potty breaks. Trashcans are provided for this purpose and Dewey Beach provides bags for going onto the beach with your pet. Guest is responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse from their pet.
Pets are not allowed to bark as to cause a disturbance to other guests.
Dogs require a Dewey Beach dog tag which may be obtained at the Dewey Beach Town Office. The tags cost $15.00 and are good for the life of the dog. If lost it is not replaceable and a new license must be obtained. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required to get a tag.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach from 9:30AM to 5:30PM ((May 15 to September 15). Dogs must be under the control of an individual at all times and that individual must have a device to clean up the dog's droppings (Year-Round). The Town has a $100.00 fine for the first offense for not cleaning up after your pet.
We do require a pet fee of $20.00 per day per dog (maximum of two) in addition to the rent and an additional cleaning fee of $25.00. This is necessary because of additional time it takes housekeeping to clean after a pet. This fee is non refundable.
Pet must not cause damage to premises or furnishings. If damages are caused, the cost of the damage will be deducted from security deposit. If damages exceed the amount held as security, Guest will be billed for any additional charges.
The Guest shall be solely responsible for the pet while on the property.
I have had pets all my life and so, therefore, I know from my own experience that not all pets are nice house pets. You will be responsible for any and all problems resulting from your stay including the shampooing or replacement of carpets if necessary or extermination for fleas if necessary. We love animals and would like to remain pet friendly.
Rodney Dunes Pier 12 assumes no liability and is hereby released from all liability associated with pets being on the premises.
Since we have been pet friendly, I am pleased to say we have very few problems.
